Several members went to Firematic Supply in Long Island to inspect our new 445. The old 445 was taken out to LI, so equipment could be taken off of it. Here our a few pictures.

This evening the juniors and members under age 18 were invited to attend a drill at Southbury FD. The fantastic drill was led by Zach Buccarelli, Lyman Gilbert, Jim Sutherland and Scott McAulay. After a session of pizza and getting to know one another we got a tour of their station and trucks.

Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue hosted an open house on Sunday, October 2, that invited the community to meet members of the company, tour its main station on Riverside Road, check out its apparatus and even try on some of the gear used for various calls.

Best Appearing Company in Shirts and First Runner-Up Ladies Auxiliary were the two awards that came home with Sandy Hook firefighters on a beautiful Sunday in September. The last parade of the year, the 2011 State of Connecticut Firefighters Convention took place in Clinton this year.
